Ruotern Passageway

The Ruotern Passageway is a river that flows southward from the waters of Arakcadia Bay, winding between the territory of the Veurim Empire to the west and Lyikdia to the east before curving eastward toward the Iridescent Woods and forming a delta in the vicinity of Vainlake. It is one of the major river systems in the southern portion of Canaan and forms a natural geographical boundary between the eastern Mediata Savannah and the Veurim interior.

Course

The Ruotern Passageway originates as a branch from Arakcadia Bay off the Iridium Channel, flowing southward through the south-central portion of Canaan. Its course takes it through a zone between Veurim territory to the west and Lyikdia to the east, serving as an informal geographical divider. The river then curves eastward, running into the Iridescent Woods region and eventually forming a delta near Vainlake in the Destitute Lands.

Crossings

The primary documented crossing of the Ruotern Passageway in the south is the Arlingeier Pass — a stone bridge over the river's delta — which connects Lyikdia with Vex Aomkess and the Veurim Empire on the far bank. Further north, a wooden folding bridge at the Ruotern Bisection road connects Komordia to Krurrozgrekh across the river.
