Temple District

The Temple District is the primary religious precinct of Arakcadia, located on the southern bank. It contains temples, prayer spaces, religious communities, public ritual areas, and waterside places of worship serving the city's diverse faiths. The Temple District is one of the clearest expressions of Arakcadia's formally recognised religious diversity: Uinheit, Mahanity, and Iride all maintain significant temple presences here, and the district's physical character is shaped by the coexistence of different worship traditions within the same civic space.

Waterside places of worship are a particular feature of the Temple District, reflecting the religious significance of Arakcadia Bay, the Emerald River, and water more broadly in Uinheit theology. The Child of the Seas — one of the divine children of Uinheit tradition, associated with the formation of the bay itself — is venerated in waterside shrines and riverside prayer spaces scattered through the district.

The Solix Temple is the most prominent single religious building in the district and one of the most recognisable landmarks of the south bank.

Major religious buildings

Solix Temple

The Solix Temple is the most prominent temple in the district and a landmark of south-bank Arakcadia. Known for its rounded roof, warm interior light, and gemstone ornamentation, it is associated with Uinheit practices of ritual cleansing, regular attendance, and public worship. It is one of the most regularly attended religious buildings in the city and draws a large and diverse congregation.

Uinheit temples

Beyond the Solix Temple, the district contains several smaller Uinheit shrines and temples dedicated to specific deities of the Uinheit pantheon. Waterside shrines associated with the Child of the Seas and the bay tradition are a distinctive element of the district's religious geography.

Mahanity

Mahanity — the faith dominant in the Zilaphelian Kingdom — is practised by a significant minority in Arakcadia, particularly among communities of Zilaphelian origin or affiliation. Mahanity has temple presence in the Temple District serving its urban adherents.

Iride

Iride, practised primarily by elven and island communities, also maintains temple presence in the district. Its worship traditions are distinct in character from Uinheit and Mahanity practices, and its sacred spaces tend to have a different aesthetic and ritual structure.

Society and community

The Temple District's resident population consists primarily of religious communities: priests, acolytes, temple staff, religious scholars, and households closely associated with particular temples. The district also houses pilgrims and religious visitors passing through the city, who use its inns and hostels as bases for their religious activities.

Civic observances — public ceremonies marking the religious calendar, gaeada observances, and seasonal rites — often involve processions through the Temple District and are partly organised by its temple communities in coordination with civic authorities.
